Daniela Moisa is an Assistant Professor in Folklore and Ethnology, and Chair of the Department of Culture and Communication at the University of Sudbury, Canada. A trained ethnologist, she is interested in the cultures of habitation, social and spatial mobility, and critical heritage studies related to migration and cultural diversity. Her main research fields focus on Southeastern Europe and North America. Daniela Moisa published several articles testifying to the variety of her research and ethnographic field work. She coordinated an issue of the Romanian Magazine Martor titled: “For an Anthropology of Success” (2011) and a collective volume, Diversity of Heritage. From the Rejection of Speech to An Eulogy of Practices, (with J. Roda), published in 2015, at Université du Québec Press. Her latest book, Success Houses. Space and Social Mobility in Oas County, Romania will be published shortly at Laval University Press.
Daniela Moisa est professeure adjointe en Folklore et ethnologie et directrice du département « Culture et communication » à l’Université de Sudbury, Canada. Ethnologue de formation, elle s’intéresse aux cultures de l’habiter, aux mobilités sociales et spatiales et aux études critiques patrimoniales en lien avec la migration et la diversité culturelle. Ses principaux terrains de recherche sont concentrés en Europe de sud-est et en Amérique du Nord. Daniela Moisa a publié plusieurs articles qui témoignent de la variété de ses recherches et terrains ethnographiques. Elle a également dirigé un numéro de la revue roumaine Martor, intitulé « Pour une anthropologie de la réussite » (2011) et un ouvrage collectif portant sur la Diversité des patrimoines. Du rejet du discours à l’éloge des pratiques, (avec J. Roda), publié en 2015, aux Presses de l’Université du Québec à Montréal. Présentement, elle prépare la publication de son livre portant sur « Casa făloasă (la maison hautaine). Mobilités spatiales et sociales au Pays d’Oas, Roumanie » qui paraîtra prochainement aux Presses de l’Université Laval.
