Sean Cotter is a professor of Literary Translations at the University of Texas at Dallas. He has translated Romanian poets and novelists, among which Nichita Stanescu’s “Wheel with a Single Spoke and Other Poems” and Mircea Cartarescu’s “Blinding. Left Wing”. His extraordinary contributions to the promotion of Romanian literature through translation have been recognized by the Institute for Romanian Culture. He is also the recipient of the Three Percent Best Translated Book Award for Poetry. Sean Cotter talked to radio journalist Andreea Demirgian about his time in Romania back in the 90’s. He told her how a Peace Corp mission has changed his whole life and shared fond memories of the Romanian literary world, at the End of the 20th century.
